Airport Security

Flying safely
Since 911, many people have become more nervous about flying. The fact that the hijackers passed through airport security with ease, carrying small weapons, made people jittery about getting on a plane. The event of 911 has certainly done a lot to tighten up airport security drastically, so much so that it can now take hours, in worst case scenarios, to get through tight airport security. Most of us willing to endure the long lines however, because we know it is necessary.

Tips for making it through airport security quickly
If you want to make it through airport security relatively quickly, then there are some things things you should think about when getting ready for your trip.

Follow the guidelines for baggage allowances and restrictions. Try not to exceed the weight limit. If your carry on is oversized, you will probably be required to put it in the hold.
If you have booked a one-way ticket, you will probably be subjected to more thorough searches and baggage checks
Have all your forms, travel documents and passport ready
Get to the airport in plenty of time
Don't be under the influence, this may stop you from boarding your flight
Don't pack any sharp objects, you will have to go through a lengthy search and your sharp items will be confiscated
Don't attempt to argue or disagree with any airport security measures
Make sure that you can open your bag easily and everything won't fall out when you do open it!

Just remember, the airplane safety measures are for your benefit and they are making us all safer. Make sure that you are aware of general travel safety tips and information before embarking on any trip.
