Airline Safety

What you should know about airline safety
Before 911, airport security checks were not anywhere near as rigorous as they are today. Now we have to get to the airport in plenty of time and be ready to stand in line for hours on some occasions as we are given a lengthy check. Most don't complain however, as we know that it is crucial for travel safety.

Frightened of flying?
Many people have developed a fear of flying since 911, some however have always had a fear of flying and that fear is related to airline safety and the extremely remote possibility of crashing. You may know of someone that is so concerned about airline safety that they will only fly with certain carriers and will avoid some weather conditions and days like the plague. You may know someone that is a walking encyclopedia on airline safety track records.

Rest assured
You should relax and take some comfort from the fact that traveling by plane is the safest form of transport by far. In order to get into a crash, you would have to fly on random flights every day for 19,000 years, to be involved in a crash.
If that doesn't do much to sooth your jittery nerves, you could do some research into airline safety and fly with an airline that has a clean record on crashes and mechanical problems, or a particular airplane model that has an excellent safety record.

You should try not to let your fears of airline safety and airplane safety get the better of you. You don't want to miss out on seeing loved ones and wonderful places.
