A Safety Product for the Home

Most people shy away from one of the best safety products you can buy to keep your home and family safe--a security system. A security system does far more than keep your house from getting robbed while you're away (or even when you're home). First of all, once you get a security system installed, the alarm company will probably give you stickers to put in your windows or a sign to put near your front shrubs that your home is armed with this type of safety product. The cool thing is that it can alert you whenever a door or window is opened. This is great if you're home alone and not expecting anyone--it will give you time to get out and call 911. Really advanced security systems have closed circuit television/video systems so you can see if anyone's near your front and/or back doors. Since most security systems have a feature that lets you know when doors or windows open, it can be one of the best toddler safety products you can get.

If you can't afford a security system, consider an extra lock on your doors and windows. This is a much cheaper safety product and will keep your family safe for years. All you have to do is remember to make sure everything is locked up when you go to bed at night or when you leave the house.

Safety Products for Your Car

An alarm system is a good safety product to have in your car as well as in your house. Sometimes this safety product comes with your car, other times it doesn't. Some cars only have a security system for the stereo, but it has a blinking light to indicate that the alarm is set, and it might make burglars think the whole car is armed.

If your car's alarm system has remote keyless entry (as most do) the remote usually has a "panic" button that you can use if you feel you're in danger and you're almost to your car. Hitting the panic button signals your car alarm to go off, scaring off any potential predators.

Of course, if you don't want to pay the extra money for a car alarm, you can always buy a safety product for your car called "The Club." This is a theft-deterring device that fits on your steering wheel and it locks. Your car simply cannot be stolen with The Club in place.
