Pet Safety Products

There are a lot of crazy pet safety products out there, but a lot of good, necessary ones too. Let us share what pet safety products we found while doing research to write this page.

Crazy Pet Safety Products
There are so many pet safety products out there that will leave you asking yourself, "Why would my pet need that?" If you have to ask, chances are your pet doesn't need that particular safety product. So save your money. However, it is fun to learn about what is out there. For instance:

A neon orange life jacket for dogs - This product had no description, so we don't really know what its redeeming qualities are. Don't dogs know how to swim? Ever heard of the "doggie paddle"?
"Doggles" - swimming goggles for dogs? Okay....
A pet umbrella - to keep your pet dry
Dog shoes or boots - to keep your pet's paws clean and dry

Not-So-Crazy Pet Safety Products
These are pet safety products you may not have thought of, but you can't argue with the fact that they might be a good idea:

A safety restraint for the car - This is basically a seat belt for your pet when you travel with it. Some might argue that restraining your pet is cruel, but it's really no different from when you wear a seatbelt or require your kids to. The intent is the same too--to keep your pet safe if there's an accident.
A vent guard window guard - This allows your pet to get some air in the car without allowing it to climb or fall out. Not a bad idea!
A lighted dog collar - This is great for walking your dog at night to prevent it from being hit by a car if it gets away.

Finding pet safety products probably isn't at the forefront of your mind. After all, you can spend a lot of money on safety products like these, but before you do, ask yourself how people kept their pets safe before these products were invented.
